Students spend math today exploring capacity and various units of measurement. Students discovered the relationships among gallons, quarts, pints, and cups.

| After the demonstration, students constructed their own gallon person, using the various measurements we had discussed in the lesson. Students will complete the gallon people by drawing their face on it and illustrating their hobbies and interests in the background. The gallon people will later be used in an activity where the students will try to infer the creator of the gallon person based on the clues in the illustrations. |
