2H Cartographers

The students have spent the last few weeks in Social Studies learning about parts of maps and how they are constructed.  As a culminating activity students became cartographers.
Students were responsible for creating a world.  The place they chose to map could be real or fictional.  Students then had to decide on appropriate symbols, create a key and compass to put on their map.  When this was completed students then went about illustrating and making their very own maps. For added effect students ripped and crinkled their maps.

Be sure to ask your child about their map.  You may be surprised about the places they went!
