Qualities of Good Citizens

This past Friday we began our first Social Studies unit.  To get us started we discussed the definition of a citizen.  Following this I explained to the students that they would be responsible for creating our own new world this year.  As part of our new world, they needed to work in small groups to define how good citizens would act in this world. Students spent time brainstorming and recording their ideas, while at the same time practicing how to work effectively in a small group.

This coming week students will continue their discussion about good citizens.  As the year progresses students will design their new world while learning map skills.
